Bathroom Renovation

DNU Renovations rebuilds bathrooms in Toronto and the west GTA from the studs out: plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, carpentry and paint handled by one crew, with every hidden layer shown to you before the tile goes up.

A bathroom is the most technical room in your house. Water, electricity, heat and steam all meet in a few square metres, and most of what decides whether it lasts ten years or forty sits behind the tile where you will never see it.

That is where I spend my time. My crew handles the plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile, finish carpentry and paint, so nothing gets lost between trades and you have one person to call. Then I show you the layers before they disappear.

Demolition to the studs

Old tile, tubs and drywall out, so we can see what the previous work was hiding.

Plumbing and drains

New supply lines, valves and drains, set for the fixtures you actually chose.

Electrical and ventilation

GFCI circuits, pot lights, vanity lighting and an exhaust fan sized for the room.

Waterproofing

A sloped shower floor and a membrane on the walls and floor of the wet area, sealed at every corner and niche.

Tile

Floors, shower walls, niches and feature walls, set flat and lined up.

Finishing

Vanity, glass, fixtures, trim, paint and hardware, installed and cleaned up.

Before the tile goes up, ask to see

  1. 1The shower floor sloped to the drain
  2. 2The waterproofing membrane on the walls and floor (on my jobs, it is the red layer)
  3. 3The niche sealed like the rest of the wall, because it is a hole cut into your waterproofing

Frequently asked questions

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Toronto?

It depends on the size of the room, how much tile you want, whether plumbing moves, and the fixtures you pick. The wet area (the shower or tub) is usually the biggest part of the budget because it takes the most labour. I give you a detailed quote after a free consultation, so you are working from real numbers for your room, not an average.

Can I finance my bathroom renovation?

Yes. We offer monthly payment plans through our lending partner, on approved credit: pre-approval in minutes without affecting your credit score, no down payment, flexible terms and no early repayment penalties.

Do you handle the plumbing and electrical, or do I need other trades?

My crew handles plumbing, electrical, tile, finish carpentry and paint on the same job, so you are not coordinating trades or waiting on someone else to show up.

What keeps a shower from leaking?

Not the tile. Water gets through grout. What keeps your house dry is the floor sloped to the drain and the waterproofing membrane behind the tile. On my jobs that membrane is red, and I will show it to you before any tile goes on.

Can you build a curbless or walk-in shower?

Yes. A curbless shower needs the floor recessed and sloped so water runs to the drain instead of across the bathroom, which is planned at the framing stage. We look at your floor during the consultation.

Should I keep the same layout to save money?

If the current layout works for you, keeping the toilet, vanity and shower where the drains already are is one of the best ways to put more of your budget into finishes. If it does not work, moving them is possible and I will tell you what it involves.

If you can dream it, we can build it.
